Statement of Faith
About God
We are a Christ-Centered ministry that is dedicated to loving God with all our heart, mind and soul and to loving our neighbor as ourselves.
We believe there is one God, who has revealed Himself as our Father, in His Son Jesus Christ, and as the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God manifested in flesh. He is both God and man. (Deuteronomy 6:4, Ephesians 4:4-6, Colossians 2:9, 1 Timothy 3:16)
About The Bible
The Bible is the infallible Word of God and the authority for salvation and Christian living. (2 Timothy 3:15- 17)
About Sin and Salvation
We believe that God created Adam and Eve in His image, but they sinned when tempted by Satan. Everyone has sinned and needs salvation. Salvation comes by grace through faith based on the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Only through God’s saving grace and work in Jesus Christ can we be rescued, reconciled and renewed. (Romans 3:23-25; 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9)
About The Gospel
The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel (2 Thessalonians 1:8; 1 Peter 4:17) by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection). (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4)
About Christian Living
As Christians we are to love God and others. We are called to live a holy life inwardly and outwardly, and to worship God in Spirit and in Truth. The supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing and prophecy, are for the church today. (Mark 12:28-31; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14; 1 Corinthians 12:8-10)
About The Future
Jesus Christ is coming again for His church. The righteous will inherit eternal life and the unrighteous eternal death. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11-15)

Jesus Had Feelings Too!
In 2015, my husband and I walked through a marital crisis. If you’ve followed along with us for a while, you may remember me periodically speaking of these things. We immediately started couples therapy and this October marked 8 (yes, EIGHT!) years of bimonthly appointments with a Christian Counseling Psychologist. The marital crisis is what […]
The 61-Art Story
Ever since I can remember, my life has included art. Every woman in my family is an amateur artist/crafter (and a few are pros). An oil painting painted by my great grandmother and framed by my great grandfather always hung in my childhood home. I have many fond memories of sitting around my Granny’s craft […]
Heart Reminders
When I was a child, I used to wonder why the Israelites seemed to often forget God’s Goodness and Faithfulness. They forgot how He would take care of them, forgot His provision, His protection, and His promises. I wondered how in the world they could possibly complain about having to eat manna every day when […]

Sabbatical Thoughts
Exhausted, emotional, and overwhelmed. That is how I felt this past spring. It was a full season with many activities, responsibilities, and events. (A common season in my family!) Thankfully, all of the “things” were positive and good! But even in the midst of so much good, it can feel burdensome when it affects your […]
Test It – Six Questions to Help You Know if God Really Said That
If you’ve been following us for a while, you know that journaling with Jesus is very important to us here at Sixty-One Acres. It is one of the many ways we can build intimacy with our Lord. When we journal with Jesus, it’s not “dear diary” writing—it is a two-way conversation with the God of […]
